Welded gabions are baskets made from welded nets which are directly on the site filled with stone and like this form modules such as terrace walls, fences, boundary walls, barriers and so on. Gabions are separated to cells with dividing parts in distance cca 1 meter.  This construction can be realized in any part of year. Material used for production of welded gabions and accessories as spirals and draw rods is wire with surface treatment Al + Zn (5%+95%). This alloy is one of the most advanced and most durable on the market.

  • Technical parameters

    Mesh size of welded net – block can be 100 x 100 mm or 100 x 50 mm. On behalf of design where we want to see more stone than wire we recommend to use mesh size 100 x 100 mm.

    During mounting of gabions is very important to take care of grounding on which we put gabion. For lower construction will be good to use level ground with compaction. With higher construction is important to secure concrete base and use reinforce tube with diameter 48mm every 2 meters inside of gabion. This tube will be grounded to the base concrete.

    Welded gabions are supplied unmounted as separate blocks, that are connected on the construction site with connecting spirals. There are three lengths of spirals: 0,6 m, 1,1 m and 1,6 m. With them can be blocks sewed together. It is important to consider that with each spiral can be connected more panels.

    For securing of shape stability ofeach gabion are used draw rods. There are two lengths of rods – for corners 0,5 m or athwart 1,0 m . Draw rods are placed inside gabion after filling of  ½  (with high of gabion 0,5 m), or 1/3 (with high of gabion 1,0m) gabion with stones to prevent it from damage during filling.

    Filling of gabions with aggregate of stones - as aggregate of stones is used filling stone that is strong enough and not splited. On looking side is used quarry stone with dimensions 1,5 – 3 times bigger than mesh size of gabion. During filling is firstly by hands stacked looking side. Than is sprinkle stone but with fraction 32-63mm and 63-125mm. Than add draw rods and continue with looking side again. It is needed to fill also surrounding gabions at once to prevent damage. In cas of mounting of more gabions one on another it is advisable to not fill gabion to the very top.
